What’s included in the 120-night risk-free trial?

Sleep on our mattress for 120 nights. If you don’t love it, we’ll give you a full refund and arrange to pick it up, at your convenience, for free. Since this is the most generous free trial period in the industry, and we have to set a limit somewhere, we just ask that you sleep on the mattress for at least 30 nights before you make a decision. Sound fair?

Please note the 120-night trial applies to orders placed after July 25, 2018. The Platform Foundation, The WinkBase, Heavy Duty Bed Frame, Cotton Sheet Set, and DreamSmart mattress protector are not covered by the 120-night trial.

If a WinkBed is returned or exchanged, the customer and shipping address will unfortunately not be eligible for additional 120-night trials. The trial is limited to one mattress per customer and household shipping address.

If you exchange one mattress for another, you'll receive a 60 night trial on the second mattress you try.

How are the mattresses shipped?

Our mattresses are compressed, rolled and shipped straight to your door in a 20" x 20" x 44" box that’s easy to maneuver into your house or apartment. Mattresses are shipped via UPS ground with free delivery.

Can I exchange my mattress?

Yes. While it is rare that someone is unhappy with the original firmness level they select, we do offer easy exchanges. During an exchange, your new mattress is free, however there is a $49.00 charge which simply covers the logistics of the new mattress delivery, the removal of the original mattress from your home, and any state or local mattress recycling fees. When exchanging your mattress, you get a new 60 night trial beginning the day you receive the second mattress, to make sure it is the right fit for you.

Do I need a box spring/foundation?

We highly recommend that you match the quality of your new mattress with our platform foundation.

Old boxsprings or foundations tend to become misshaped and may not provide sufficient support. It may appear that your new mattress is “sagging” when the problem may be due to an inadequate or non-supportive foundation. While the purchase of a foundation or platform is not required, it ensures the mattress remains in good condition and that it feels the way it is supposed to feel.

For the perfect compliment to a WinkBed, we sell an accompanying platform foundation. The platform foundation is 15″ in height when used with the included legs, or 7.5" in height when used without the legs, and can be used with or without an existing bed frame.

The platform foundation ships via UPS and is easily assembled with no tools required.

Can I use mattresses from WinkBeds on a platform bed or a bed with slats?

Yes, our mattresses will work just fine on a platform or slatted bed frame. We strongly recommend that you double check to make sure your bed frame has a rigid center support. If you are unsure about the level of support your bed frame provides, we strongly recommend that you purchase a platform foundation to ensure adequate support.

What type of fire barrier is in the WinkBed?

All mattresses that are sold in the US are required to have a fire barrier. The WinkBed and GravityLux use an all natural fire barrier that is made from a blend of cotton and rayon. The EcoCloud Hybrid uses a natural wool fire barrier.

Do your mattresses have environmental certifications?

Yes, all of the foam in our beds are CertiPUR-US certified, which means the foam in our beds is made without ozone-depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead and heavy metals, formaldehyde, prohibited phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It’s also low in volatile organic compound emissions, at less than 0.5 parts per million. Our Talalay Latex is OEKO-TEX Class 100 certified. Our innersprings are made from Recycled steel.

How long will it take to get my mattress?

We offer free ground shipping within the contiguous United States. Depending on where you’re located, and because each of our beds are built-to-order, it will take about two weeks for you to receive your mattress after placing an order.

Can you remove my old mattress, too?

In the event of a return or an exchange, we will pick up the WinkBed which is being returned. However, we are not able to remove your original older mattress.

Should I flip or rotate my mattress?

Most mattresses go through a break-in period where the foams begin to soften up with normal use. To elongate the life of your mattress and make sure the foams break in evenly, we recommend rotating your mattress every two weeks for the first three months, then every 2 months thereafter.

Do I need to wait to use my WinkBed after opening it?

No need to wait! Your WinkBed is ready to use right out of the box.

How does an exchange work?

Simply contact us within your trial period and let us know you wish to exchange your mattress. We will then send you a $49 invoice, which simply covers the logistics of sending out your new mattress, the cost of picking up the old mattress and making sure it gets donated or recycled, along with any state and/or local mattress recycling fees. After that, we’ll get started on building you a softer or firmer version of our mattress! The new mattress will be delivered before the old mattress is taken away, so you’ll never be without a bed to sleep on. You'll receive a 60 night trial on the second mattress you try.

What is not covered by the 120 night trial?

Please note, The Platform Foundation, The WinkBase, The Heavy Duty Bed Frame, Cotton Sheet Set, and DreamSmart mattress protector are not covered by the 120 night trial. These items are not eligible for return.

Trial Period and Exchanges

Where can I read the full warranty text?

YOUR LIFETIME LIMITED WARRANTY

Your new WinkBeds mattress is covered by a Lifetime Limited Warranty (the “Warranty”) for the full period of the original owner’s (“you”) ownership and use.

WHO IS COVERED

This warranty is valid only for the original purchaser from the original purchase date of the Mattress and is non-transferable. The “original purchaser,” for the purposes of this Warranty, is the first purchaser of the Mattress from Wink Beds LLC (“WinkBeds”) or a WinkBeds authorized retailer. Please retain a copy of your receipt as proof of purchase and owner.

If the original purchaser sells or otherwise relinquishes ownership of the mattress to another, this Warranty terminates and the subsequent owner accepts the product “as is” and “with all faults.”

WHAT IS WARRANTED

This Warranty extends to mattresses manufactured by WinkBeds and purchased directly from WinkBeds or WinkBeds’ authorized retailers (the “Mattresses”).

WinkBeds warrants the Mattress in its original packaging sold to you against the defects in material and workmanship set forth below (“Defects”) for the full period of ownership by you and use by you commencing from the time your Mattress is purchased by you. This warranty is limited to one replacement per mattress purchased. This warranty does not extend to mattresses purchased under the “Any Reason” replacement guaranty.

THE FOLLOWING DEFECTS ARE COVERED:

Deterioration causing the Mattress to have a visible indentation greater than one (1.5”) one and one half inches that is not associated with an indentation or sag which results from use of an improper or unsupportive foundation or bed base. Normal wear requires that a Mattress be continuously supported by a matching foundation or adjustable bed base with a proper bed frame sufficient to support the collective weight of the Mattress and user(s).

Any physical flaw in the Mattress due to a manufacturing defect that causes the foam or spring material to evidence degradation, split or crack, despite normal usage and proper handling.

THIS MATTRESS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER

Any product which has been subject to misuse, neglect, accident or used in violation of instructions, including instructions to place mattress on proper bed frame. A normal increase in softness of the foam pressurerelieving material which does not affect the pressurerelieving qualities of the Mattress. Comfort preference. Defects caused by physical abuse or damage to the structure and/or cover material, including but not limited to, burns, cuts, tears, liquid damage, or stains. Mattresses sold “as-is”, “preconditioned”, “reconditioned”, “used”, “returned”, “previously owned”, or any other similar wording indicating that the Mattress is not “new” or of “first quality”, or has previously been purchased or used by another consumer.

WARRANTY REMEDY

In the event of a Defect (as defined above), WinkBeds’ sole liability and your sole remedies under this Warranty will be:

A replacement of your defective mattress with a brand new WinkBeds mattress in the same model and size at absolutely no charge to you.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

In order for this Warranty to apply, the Mattresses must be used on a firm, rigid, non-flexible surface with an ample center support leg(s), such as a bed base that is structurally capable of supporting the weight of the Mattress and user(s) for the entirety of its use. Purchaser must prove that matching foundation or adjustable bed base with a proper bed frame sufficient to support the collective weight of the Mattress and user(s) was used.

You must return your Mattress and show proof of original purchase. At WinkBeds’ option, WinkBeds may authorize you to provide photo evidence of defect in lieu of returning the Mattress. You are responsible for the shipping costs associated with returning your mattress. However, if WinkBeds determines that a Defect exists, WinkBeds will assume all transportation costs associated with returning and replacing your mattress.

Do you have any statistics about the durability of the foam you use?

Yes. An independent organization called the the Carpenter Technical Center performed a study on the durability of the foams we use in our mattress. The test, named the constant force fatigue test, simulates 10 years of bed usage by dropping a 168-lb weight on a block of foam 80,000 times. That is far more abuse than a mattress will ever see in a person’s home, even over an extended period of years.

Do you make custom-sized mattresses?

No, we do not make custom sized mattresses.

Frames, Boxsprings, and Adjustable Bases

Do your mattresses work on an adjustable frame?

Yes, our mattresses are all compatible with adjustable bed frames.

Will my mattress work on my existing boxspring or foundation

We generally recommend purchasing both the mattress and platform. However, if your box spring/foundation is in very good condition, meaning it’s sturdy, has no sagging, and remains a rigid and even surface, it should work fine.

Shipping and Delivery

What is included with free delivery?

We are pleased to be able to offer free delivery service to our customers. When you select free delivery, our dedicated shipping partners will deliver your mattress and/or accessories right to the ground level door of your house or apartment building. Installation of the mattress is not included. The free delivery does not include installation of the mattress or carrying the mattress up any stairs. Free delivery is available within the contiguous United States.

Do you ship internationally?

No, we ship within the USA only.

Mattress Care

How do I clean my mattress?

Vacuuming is the only recommended method to clean your mattress. Dust and dander can build up, so we recommend that you use the upholstery attachment on your vacuum every couple of weeks.

Do I need a mattress protector?

While certainly not required, a protective pad can help keep your mattress clean and stain-free.

Can I Try the Winkbed in Stores?

Why are your mattresses unavailable in mattress stores?

Our e-commerce business model helps us keep our costs low and our prices even lower. By selling our mattresses exclusively online, we can bypass many of the traditional distribution channels and layers of retail markups. You can, however, try the bed risk-free for 120 nights. If you’re not getting the best sleep of your life at any point within that time, we’ll refund you and take your bed back, no questions asked.
